Get Involved

We encourage unity through shared experiences and advocating for the rights of all people with disabilities. Through leadership development and policy advocacy, we provide members with the tools to be successful in standing up for what is important to them and being involved in their community.

We support this in two ways: we help members become advocates for themselves through self-advocacy and we help members advocate for others with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What is self-advocacy?

Self-advocacy is about speaking up for one’s self, having a voice, and standing up for what you believe in.

What is a self-advocacy group?

A self-advocacy group helps people stand up for what is important to them and brings people together to advocate for common issues. There is always power in numbers.
